Started in 2017, one of our ongoing community outreach programs is providing first aid kits to area K9 dogs. We are very excited to be working with the local law enforcement departments by providing well-stocked first aid kits for each K9 officer in the field. At this point we have provided first aid kits to the working dogs in the Columbus Police Department, Harris County Sheriff’s Department, Phenix City Police Department, Troup County Sheriff’s Department, Lagrange Police Department, Columbus State University Police Department, and Columbus Fire Department. We will be presenting more first aid kits to Russell County Sheriff’s Department and Muskogee County Sheriff’s Department very soon!
The kits are geared to meet the needs of the individual officers and their K9 partners and as supplies are used, the Club will restock them as needed.
Funding for this ongoing endeavor is provided through the raffle at our annual show in Perry, GA, and through donations earmarked specifically for this program. We have many companies who donate items to help us raise money for our K9 First Aid Kits.
